Two prolific scorers will be on display tonight when the two Salinas neighbors open the water polo season.
Coming off a state finals appearance in swimming last spring, the Cowboys Nic Clark will be asked to carry the offense this fall after producing 52 goals last season.
The same can be said for Palma's Sam Given, who recorded 42 goals and led the team in steals with 52. Firepower could also come from Nicholas Kimes.
The Chieftains struggled in their inaugural season in the Gabilan Division, a year after dominating the Pacific Division.
Salinas produced 23 wins last season in reaching the Central Coast Section Division I semifinals.
