Three games into the fall and North Salinas has already equaled last year's entire win total, gaining a measure of redemption against two opponents.
While last year's eight game losing streak is in the rear view mirror, players don't need a reminder of how fast things can change. Remember, the Vikings started 2-0 last season.
The wheels aren't falling off this year. Players and coaches are on the same page. There's harmony in the locker room.
North Salinas has a defense that could be special in the Pacific Division, having returned a fumble and two interceptions for touchdowns this year.
An emphasis on special teams is paying dividends after North Salinas blocked a punt last Friday and returned it for a touchdown.
What's scary about the Vikings is the offense is still building that chemistry. Junior quarterback Tim Burkhardt has shown flashes. Improvement in the ground game could make them lethal.
