It's beginning to appear as if Mason Foster may have to wait for a team to suffer an injury before he gets back in the NFL.
If the Bears knew they were going to release him and go with youth, they didn't do him any favors by cutting the former Seaside linebacker a week before the regular season starts.
Teams pretty much have their rosters intact for opening week. While Foster could certainly help a lot of teams, it will likely take a need for him to get signed.
The 6-foot-2 Foster had 101 tackles last year and 341 through the first three years of his NFL career with Tampa Bay.
At 26, Foster still has a lot of miles left in his body.
