The Buffaloes already have a game under their belt, having opened the season with a 34-6 win over Buhach Colony of Atwater.
Last season Manteca was 9-3 overall -- 5-2 in the Valley Oak League -- falling in the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I-VI playoffs to Sacramento.
The Condors will have to keep an eye on tailback Darrion Kitson, who rushed for 83 yards and two touchdowns on just 10 carries last week.
Quarterback Dakarai Charles, who threw for over 1,000 yards last fall, was sharp in the opener for the Buffaloes, throwing for 93 yards and a touchdown, adding 45 yards on the ground.
North County, who is enduring its seventh head coach in eight years, held its own in a scrimmage with Gilroy and Carmel last Friday.
The Condors defense -- anchored by Manuel Gallardo -- will have to rise to the occasion as the offense irons out a few wrinkles.
