Former Monterey Herald Male Athlete of the Year Luke Lowell is starting at quarterback this fall for the Pomona-Pitzer football team.
The sophomore is 23-of-34 for 265 yards and two touchdowns in two games for the Saghens. The 6-foot-2 Lowell is completing 68 percent of passes and has not thrown an interception.
During his senior year at Pacific Grove, Lowell set new single season school records in passing yards and touchdowns in leading the team to the Central Coast Section Division IV finals.
