Los Medanos-MPC football

Saturday's game
Los Medanos (0-1) at Monterey Peninsula (1-0), 6 p.m.
Talk about a confidence building win.
Starring at a 14-point second half deficit last week, the Lobos went out and outscored Redwoods 35-0 to make that eight hour bus ride home more pleasurable.
Quarterback Keon Marsh was sharp for MPC, completing 26-of-38 passes for 348 yards and five touchdowns to five different receivers.
Seven different receivers caught at least two passes, including Brandon Sampson and Seaside grad Jelahny Garnett, who each had seven catches and a touchdown.
The Lobos were balanced on offense as Salinas grad Jordan Torres rushed for 88 yards and caught five passes for 110 yards and a touchdown.
Defensively Anthony McKay made his return after a five-year absence from the game and led MPC  with nine tackles and two sacks.
McKay was The Herald's Defensive Player of the Year in 2010 at Alvarez. Freshmen Adrian Valdez added six tackles and a sack in his college debut.
A bright spot in Los Medanos' 44-14 loss to Merced last week was quarterback Julius Mozee, who threw for 248 yards and two touchdowns.
Last year MPC fell 41-37 in a shootout with Los Medanos.
