Livermore Valley Charter-Marina football

Saturday's game
Livermore Valley Charter (2-0) vs. Marina (0-1) at MPC, 2 p.m.
Under head coach Fred Biletnikoff Jr., the son of former Raiders receiver and Hall of Famer Fred Biletnikoff, the Hawks are off to a 2-0 start this season.
Last year Livermore was just 1-9, forfeiting two games and producing 65 points all season. It has outscored two opponents 55-19 this fall.
The Mariners put themselves in a 19-point hole last week before a late rally fell short in a five-point loss to St. Francis Catholic, their 12th straight setback dating back to 2013.
While a run first mentality has been emphasized since practice began, both of Marina's touchdowns came through the air as EJ Jennings caught one and tossed one.
Whether it's behind center or in the slot, Jennings needs more touches. He's a game changer when the ball is in his hands. Quarterback Paul McDowell is elusive as well.
This is the second of five straight home games for Marina, but the only game that will be played on Saturday afternoon.
