Friday's game
King City (1-1) at Gustine (2-0), 7:30 p.m.
Another trip to the land of Oz awaits the Mustangs, who are coming off arguably their biggest win in a decade last week, scoring as time expired to beat Hanford West.
Gustine, a member of the SAC Joaquin Section, has produced 77 points in two games, erupting for a 49-0 win last week over Millennium of Tracy.
Brandon Labry has rushed for 298 yards and four touchdowns for the Redskins. As a team, they are averaging 9.8 yards per carry. Quarterback Sebastian Figueroa has 15 completions, five for TD's.
Quarterback Jacob Flores has clearly built some chemistry with senior tight end Jarod Davis, as the pair have hooked up 10 times for King City.
Flores' versatility was evident in the final seconds last week when he sprinted to his right, outracing two Hanford sprinters to the end zone as time expired.
Slow starts and special teams have hindered the Mustangs. Last week they gave up two kickoffs for touchdowns. And they have yet to score in the first half this year.
