Friday's game
Harbor (0-3) vs. Marina (1-1) at MPC, 7:30 p.m.
Snapping a 12-game losing streak last week, the Mariners showed some second half magic for the second straight week -- this time with rewarding results.
In two games, Marina has outscored the opposition 22-6 in the second half.
Harbor has struggled to stop opponents, having given up 152 points in three losses.
The Mariners are using EJ Jennings in a variety of fashions on the field. The results are encouraging as he's rushed for a touchdown, caught a touchdown and thrown a touchdown.
The strength of Marina is its defense. Anchored by Angel Guevara and Will Leander, it forced three turnovers last week.
The two teams have split their head-to-head meetings with Marina prevailing 27-21 in 2013.
The Pirates are 0-2 this year against teams from the Mission Trail Athletic League, having failed to complete a pass in both games.
All three of Harbor's touchdowns this year have been of 50 yards or longer.
