Gonzales football

If you still don't believe in Gonzales -- three straight wins to open the season for the first time in 11 years -- it's OK.
All that matters is the confidence in the Spartans locker room.
 It's a quite confidence.
The past isn't that far in the rear view mirror for players to forget what it took to rebuild this ship.
Yet, this team talked about being a playoff contender back in July.
 Are they?
You certainly can't overlook them, particularly the Spartans defense.
Anchored by Isaac Madrigal and Ryan Avila, Gonzales has given up one touchdown in 12 quarters -- zero in the last 11 quarters.
The offense is controlling the ball behind quarterback Logan Gomez and tailback Fabian Acosta, having outscored teams 99-7.
The waters will get more challenging in league. Yet, what Gonzales has done is established momentum and a belief.
