Burlingame-Alvarez football

Friday's game
Burlingame (2-0) at Alvarez (1-1), 7:30 p.m.
Last season the Panthers posted a 10-2 record, with their only losses coming from eventual Central Coast Section champions Aptos and Sacred Heart Prep.
A member of the Peninsula Bay Division, which includes Sacred Heart Prep and reigning Division IV champion Terra Nova, Burlingame is 21-1 in its last 22 regular season games.
The Panthers have a potent ground game led by 225 pound running back Laipeli Paul and a efficient aerial attack guided by quarterback Cameron Kelaita.
The third quarter has been Alvarez's domain, having outscored the opposition 15-0. Defense has not  been an issue for the Eagles, who have allowed just two touchdowns.
Quarterback Joziah Garcia made the most of his three completions last week, as two of them went for touchdowns.
Brandon Yasay was effective grinding out yards behind the Eagles offensive line anchored by Aldo Flores.
Alvarez has dropped its last four games when an opponent scores first.
