The former Salinas High outside hitter has a team high 36 kills in the UC Santa Barbara volleyball teams first three matches, helping them get off to a 3-0 start this fall.
The 6-foot-1 Barbeau, a two-time Big West Conference first team selection, led the team in kills (265) and service aces (30) last season.
In three seasons with the Gauchos, the senior has compiled 634 kills and 300 digs, including 15 digs in the teams first three matches this year.
Barbeau, who helped propel Salinas to a spot in the State Division I title match in 2009, was The Herald's Player of the Year in 2011
