Football Tour VIII (Soledad)

Soledad (6-4, 5-2)
For the Aztecs, it's about taking the next step this year.
Soledad has rattled off four straight winning seasons for the first time in school history. It has made two postseason appearances.
Yet, that next step means chasing a Mission Trail Athletic League title.
For that to occur, Soledad will have to knock down two barriers that have stood in its path in Pacific Grove and Carmel.
The Aztecs have beaten the Padres and Pacific Grove just once in 16 seasons.
Soledad closed last season with a rush, going 5-1. All four teams it fell to on the season reached the Central Coast Section playoffs.
Having tailback Enrique Pacheco back will ignite the ground game while Kevin Lemus - a four year varsity player - was among the MTAL leaders in yards after catch.
A defense, anchored by Pacheco and Daniel Contawe, was the Aztecs strength last year as they held three teams without a touchdown and seven teams under 20 points.
Soledad will be tested early as its non-league schedule includes Seaside and Monte Vista Christian.
