Seven events I attended worth rekindling
Boys basketball
Soledad at Monterey
A perennial playoff team against a program that snuck into the postseason.
This was suppose to be a mismatch.
Yet, Soledad decided to show up -- with a student body that outnumbered Monterey's home crowd.
The Aztecs fed off their fans with a miraculous second half comeback.
Behind Mark Valladarez and Junior Chavez, Soledad ran off 16 straight points between the third and fourth quarters, then hit clutch free throws to secure a 53-49 win.
Easily the upset of the year in hoops.
