Candidates for Athlete of the Year

John Stivers, Carmel

 The only male athlete to earn all-county honors in football and basketball, Stivers caught 64 passes as a tight end for over 800 yards and nine touchdowns for the Padres last fall.

 On the hardwood, the 6-foot-4 post and two-time Mission Trail Athletic League Player of the Year averaged 18.5 points and 12.3 rebounds a game for Carmel, producing 18 double-doubles.
Stivers also started on the diamond for Carmel, hitting over .300 while finishing among the team leaders in doubles, helping them to a share of the Mission Trail Athletic League title.
