Yet, Carmel is back in the Mission Trail Athletic League lacrosse title game, undefeated in league and 16-2 overall going into today's title game with Scotts Valley.
The Padres have been a scoring machine this year, ramping it up in the playoffs, producing 34 goals in two lopsided postseason wins.
Eleven times this season Carmel has scored 17 or more points in a game.
Morgan Koucky has been an offensive juggernaut all season for Carmel with 72 goals and 33 assists while Karter Ruiz has 68 goals and 25 assists and Dillon Staples 36 goals and 36 assists.
This is a rematch of a March 26 battle in which Carmel posted an 8-2 win over Scotts Valley.
The Falcons come into the title game having won seven straight games.
Carmel's only two setbacks on the season came against WCAL powers Bellarmine and St. Francis.
