North Salinas-Watsonville baseball

 Eight straight wins have ensued since defending Pacific Division champion North Salinas dropped a pair of games to Watsonville.
 All that is standing in the Vikings path to another league title is Watsonville, who it visits for a third time on Wednesday under the lights.
 The Wildcatz are the only team in the Pacific to have beaten North Salinas this year. Yet, they sit a game back after losing two home games to Alvarez this year, and one to North County.
 Chris Rivera will likely start on the hill for Watsonville against Joseph Gutierrez. The pair engaged in a classic pitchers dual in the first battle -- a Wildcatz 1-0 decision.
 During North Salinas' eight-game winning streak, it has outscored the opposition 76-8. Rafael Perez, Tim Burkhardt and Jared Victoriano have all gotten hot at the plate of late.
