Mikayla Revera

Mikayla Revera calls it a challenge.
Some look at it as a risk.
All eyes will be on the Santa Catalina sprinter Friday as she attempts to reach the state meet in the 400, 100 and 200 at the Central Coast Section track and field finals in San Jose.
The challenge comes from trying to reach the state meet in all three events, something never done in Monterey County.
The risk is getting back into the blocks for the 100 after running a 400 roughly 15 minutes earlier.
Revera clocked a career best 12.09 in the 100 after running 55.94 in the 400 at last week's CCS trials.
Of course, she also had more rest because of the heats in both races.
That won't be the case Friday.
Revera will go into the finals ranked No. 1 in the 200, No. 2 in the 400 and No. 3 in the 100. The 200 is roughly 45 minutes after the 100.
The top three in each event advance to the state championships.
The sophomore's time in the 400 is under the automatic state qualifying mark if she attains it at the CCS finals, regardless of place.
