Watsonville-North Salinas baseball

North Salinas has had all weekend to stew after seeing its 19-game league winning streak snapped by Watsonville last week.
I wouldn't call it a wake up call. After all, Watsonville was the only team to beat them in league last year.
I would look at it as a motivational tool for today's rematch at North Salinas.
All of a sudden, first place is at stake for these two rivals.
Ironically, the Wildcatz were just 2-4 in their last four overall games prior to beating North Salinas 1-0.
No one will argue that Watsonville is a different team with Chris Rivera on the mound. It's unlikely he will start on two days rest.
North Salinas will turn to Isaac Garcia, who has pitched like an ace this year.
One run games have not gone well for the defending Pacific Division champion Vikings, who are just 1-3 this year.
