Watsonville-North Salinas baseball

If any team in the Pacific Division is going to be a threat to North Salinas' run of supremacy and bid for perfection in league play, it's Watsonville.
The last league team to defeat the defending league champion Vikings was Watsonville. Since then North Salinas has rattled off 19 straight league wins, including an 8-0 start this spring.
Pitching has been the springboard for North Salinas' surge to the top. During its 19 game winning streak, it has shutout nine teams and held seven others to two runs or less.
Joseph Gutierrez and Isaac Garcia have taken turns quieting bats. At the plate, Tim Burkhardt has had a coming out season, leading the Vikings in numerous offensive categories.
The Wildcatz will be in any game that Chris Rivera pitches in. Yet, since starting league play 5-0,  Watsonville is 2-2, having scored just five runs in its last three league games.
