Peak performances are around the corner for track and field athletes gearing up for their respective league finals in two weeks.
Two invitationals today on two lightening fast tracks will give runners another shot at lowering their times or improving their marks in the field.
The Pacific Grove Invitational and Alisal Invitational will have roughly 40 schools between them taking part in what might be the final chance for some athletes to meet league qualifying standards.
Alisal's track has traditionally produced blistering times in the short sprints while Pacific Grove's facility is one of the nicest in the state.
Wet weather could be a concern in the field events. The expected rain is suppose to stop around 11 a.m.
