San Benito-Salinas baseball

Give Salinas credit for not scheduling any creampuffs in non-league.
Granted it dropped its first four games.
Yet, it prepared them for the Gabilan Division.
Two shutouts last week from hurlers Josh Olivarria and Ethan Santos have Salinas off to a 2-0 start going into today's road battle with perennial league power San Benito.
The Cowboys pitching has been outstanding during a three-game winning streak, allowing one run in 21 innings.
San Benito's pitching has been equally dominating, having given up just one run in 28 innings in the Gabilan Division.
Olivarria has been on fire at the plate for Salinas as well, having reached base in his last five games. Bruce Leighton and Jack Larronde have also stung the ball.
Salinas has to be careful how it pitches to Zachry Moeller, an all-leaguer last year that led the team in homers, and already has one this year.
The Balers swept the season series last year with Salinas, However, the Cowboys last win came in Hollister in 2013.
