Menlo-Atherton-North Salinas girls hoops

CCS Division I finals
Saturday's game
No. 2 Menlo-Atherton (24-5) vs. No. 1 North Salinas (23-2) at Santa Clara University, 6 p.m.
It sure seems a lot like last year for the defending Division I champion Vikings -- doing things that go unnoticed in winning 15 straight games.
The two teams are no strangers to each other, having battled in the quarterfinals last year with North Salinas pulling out a 52-41 win.
Champions of the Peninsula South League, the Bears have rattled off 14 straight wins of their own, using overtime to knock off Piedmont Hills on Wednesday.
Menlo-Atherton did fall earlier in the year by 14 to Silver Creek, a team North Salinas defeated by nine on Wednesday.
The Vikings version of the Jackson 5 -- five girls that coach Darren Jackson called up as freshman four years ago -- are 65-10 over the last three years with three league titles.
Among them is Alyssa Springs -- the likely MVP of the Gabilan Division. Aliyah Urzua, Nicole Hermosillo Wright, Monae Hobson and Adea Prime are the heart of the team.
