There has been nothing short of a sure thing this spring than Greg Steinbeck.
The former San Benito High pitching ace has yet to taste defeat at the collegiate level, sporting a 6-0 record for CSU-Monterey Bay.
Perhaps even more important is the Otters are undefeated each time Steinbeck has pitched in a game.
The right-hander has been filthy, sporting a 0.78 earned run average, with 26 strikeouts in 46 innings of work.
Steinbeck has gone at least five innings in all six starts, and pitched seven innings without allowing a run in relief in his debut for the Otters.
When Steinbeck takes his next turn on the mound this weekend for CSUMB, he has a streak of 21 innings without allowing a run.
