Carmel-Stevenson baseball

The Pirates are a different team when Brad Powers pitches.
Yet, he's only started one game this year for Stevenson, allowing just one earned run in a gut-wrenching 5-4 loss to Pacific Grove.
I would suspect the junior right-hander will throw today when the Pirates host reigning champion and unbeaten Carmel.
Stevenson needs a win to remain in the MTAL title chase.
The Pirates bats have gotten hot of late with Taylor Balestrieri, Aiden Franscioni and Powers all stinging the ball.
Who hasn't been hot for Carmel, who has scored 11 or more runs in its last four games.
Lennie Rodriguez has been on a different planet, sending four shots into orbit for home runs.
There isn't an easy out in this lineup for the Padres, which have outscored opponents 74-7 during a six-game winning streak.
