Martinez won the Monterey Bay League finals last Saturday, defeating Palma's Barrett Bonfatini, who is seeded No. 3 behind Martinez.
The Chieftains Dominic Fratangelo is seeded No. 2 at 152 pounds after capturing the MBL finals. Last year Fratangelo was fourth in the section finals at 145, reaching the state meet.
The Chieftains have four wrestlers seeded in the top five, including Anthony Pacheco, who is No. 3 at 126 pounds, while Michael Zaragoza is No. 5 at 132.
Alvarez's Kevin Ruiz is seeded No. 4 at 160 pounds while teammate Juan Manzano is No. 5 at 195 pounds.
Mission Trail Athletic League champion Antonio Magana of Carmel is seeded No. 5 at 152 pounds while Soledad's Martin Landin is No. 7.
Alisa's Rico Huerta, who was sixth last year at 120 pounds, comes into the tournament seeded No. 7, as does Monterey's Dhani James at 220.
Monte Vista Christian's Christian Rebottaro is the top seed in the heavyweight class. Gilroy is the heavy favorite to defend its team title.
