These are two different teams since their epic first battle, in which the Breakers rallied from a 10-point fourth quarter deficit for a three-point decision on Jan. 21.
For starters, Stevenson hasn't lost since, having rattled off six straight wins behind sharpshooters Parker Olin and Jack Burgess. Olin had four 3-point goals in the last meeting.
Pacific Grove has run off eight straight wins behind sophomore Brad Sendell and foreign exchange student Erol Ersek.
Sendell is among the Mission Trail Athletic League's top scorers while the 6-foot-5 Ersek gives them another offensive option as well as a defensive presence.
Ersek, who didn't arrive until after Christmas and had to learn the Breakers system, is often put on the opponents best offensive threat in the post or on the perimeter.
As a result, the Breakers have held eight straight MTAL opponents under 50 points. Senior post Chip Wagner has provided leadership and a presence in the paint.
