Seconds after Soledad secured its first ever road playoff win, players ran to the stands to celebrate with a large contingent of the schools student body, who came up for the road trip.

Head coach Jorge Valladarez found himself bear hugged off the ground twice as the Aztecs stunned host Monterey 53-49 in the Central Coast Section Division III basketball playoffs.
"I'm just excited," senior guard Mark Valladarez said. "We made some history tonight."
