Saturday morning thoughts

Palma becomes the first team to clinch no worse than a share of a league title after beating Seaside, improving to 9-0 in the Gabilan Division.
Pacific Grove rallies from a 10-point halftime deficit by holding previously unbeaten Carmel to seven second half points in girls hoops.
Alex Sierra leads four players in double figures as MPC knocks off perennial power Mission 60-55 in women's hoops
Brad Sendell drops in 32 points - 17 in the fourth quarter as Pacific Grove takes over sole possession of first place in the MTAL with a win over Carmel.
Seaside grad Victoria Dorn leads the Otters women's basketball team past San Francisco State with a team high 12 points.
Freshman Ambreece Gaskins erupts for 46 points for Stevenson -- the second highest point total in school history behind Katie Denny's 50 point eruption in 1998.
Nat Hunsdorfer as a double-double with 20 points and 13 rebounds, helping Salinas recover from a four-point halftime deficit to beat Monterey.

Also looking like Palma will be bumped up to the CCS Open Division basketball playoff bracket instead of playing D4, as with Half Moon Bay and Sacred Heart Prep (at least 2 of the three will most likely move up). That opens an opportunity for PG and Carmel in the playoffs who would have no shot of a D4 title if the above teams are in the bracket.

This year playoff change: All teams selected to participate in the CCS Open playoff and champions of DI-V will receive an automatic qualification for the Northern California Regional Tournament as will some runners up in DI-V. Monte Vista is another team in D4 that has a shot.

Could be 3 D4 teams from local teams that qualify for the Norcal Region tournament.
