It looks like at least 11 teams in Monterey County will make the CCS boys basketball playoffs, with Soledad still in contention if it can close the season with two wins.
Locks include Pacific Grove making its 24th consecutive postseason appearance, as well as Gabilan Division champion Palma, and league rivals Salinas and Monterey.

A dozen girls teams from the county could qualify for the postseason. But only a handful are locks at this point.
Last year four teams had a .500 or better record out of the Pacific Division. Yet, only two advanced to the playoffs. The same scenario could unfold again this season.
Gabilan Division champion North Salinas is a lock as are MTAL rivals, Carmel, Santa Catalina and Pacific Grove.
Seaside will miss the playoffs in boys basketball for the first time in 22 years while King City will miss the dance in girls hoops for the second straight year after making 31 straight appearances.
