CCS girls soccer playoffs

CCS Division I quarterfinals
Saturday's game
 No. 5 Carlmont (12-7-2) vs. No. 4 Salinas (11-1-5) at Pioneer High, 2 p.m
Coming off the programs first ever postseason win in overtime, the Cowboys are unbeaten in their last 16 games.
Carlmont finished second in the Peninsula Athletic League's Bay Division, but is winless this year on a neutral site.
Taylor Burbank gave Salinas a shot in the arm on Wednesday with a game-tying goal and a goal in overtime to back a defense that has allowed just six goals in their last 16 games.
Goalie Sophia Tellez has 50 saves and 10 shutouts between the pipes for the MBL Gabilan Division champions.

CCS Division III quarterfinals
Saturday's game
No. 8 Greenfield (11-5-3) vs. No. 1 Sacred Heart Prep (16-2-1) at Pioneer High, noon.
An historic season continues for the Bruins, who won their first Mission Trail Athletic League title and first postseason game on Wednesday, tying the single season school record for wins.
Alicia Montanez broke her own school record for goals this year with 23. But it was Paula Cornejo's goal that was the difference in Greenfield's 2-1 win over Monte Vista.
The top-seeded and defending D3 champion Gators won the WBAL Foothill Division with a 10-0 record, and have won 12 straight matches, having outscored opponents 52-7.
Greenfield needs to keep an eye on freshman Mia Shenk, as she has produced 25 goals for Scared Heart Prep.
