Stevenson-Carmel boys hoops

If Stevenson wants to make an early season statement, knocking off the reigning league champions tonight on the road would open some eyes.
Home court advantage meant little last season as the teams split their head-to-head battles, each winning on the road.
Neutralizing two-time Mission Trail Athletic League Most Valuable Player John Stivers is critical for the Pirates.
The 6-foot-4 junior is averaging over 24 points a game in his last four games for Carmel, having compiled four straight double-doubles.
The Padres have a little more offense this spring with Alex Michel coming off a 15-point effort, and three-year starter Connor Marden providing a presence on the outside.
Offense has not been a problem for the Pirates, who have three players averaging 10 or more points a game, including Matt Chodosh, who is dropping in just under 17 points a night.
Stevenson has not lost to a team in the Central Coast Section this year.
