Alvarez girls hoops

You could start to see a change in direction with Alvarez two years ago.
After going 1-72 in league play over the course of six years, the Eagles have won seven league games in back-to-back seasons.
This is what the equity league is supposed to do for struggling programs in building them back up.
The confidence is back. The morale is up.
And the belief is that Alvarez can make a run at league supremacy in the Pacific Division for the first time since 1999, the one and only time the program has won a league title.
What makes the Eagles' 2-0 start in the Pacific Division impressive is they went out and beat the two favorites in Alisal and Notre Dame.
Angelina Ruiz has heated up in league play for the Eagles with 17 and 21 points while DeAsyia Gamble has back-to-back double-digit efforts in the scoring column.
Overall, Alvarez, which visits North County tonight, has won five straight games for the first time in 15 years.
