Monterey County All-Star Football Game
Friday at Rabobank Stadium, 7 p.m.
A look at Team Voices for Children, guided by Alvarez coach David Bottom
Loading up on players from Alvarez and Monterey has provided no shortage of talent on this 32-man all-star roster.
As for playmakers, quarterback Edric Gamble gave teams fits last year for Alvarez, rushing for over 1,300 yards while throwing for 800, compiling 27 touchdowns.
King City's Dominic Rose comes to the forefront. Despite seeing double teams throughout the year, the receiver caught 103 passes in two years, including 56 this past season.
Last fall Ryan Reynolds scored touchdowns four different ways for Monterey, returning five punts or kickoffs for touchdowns, while Alvarez's Cesar Ramirez is another option in the backfield.
Defensively, the Eagles' Rene Chavez and Ryan Hocoq will anchor a unit that includes Monterey's Digger Gugale and Felipe Silva, and MTAL Lineman of the Year Issac Perez of King City.
