Saturday morning thoughts

 Salinas is 4-1 in its six games in six days road trip, which concludes tonight when it plays in its  second tournament championship game in five days in the Carmel Classic.
 Palma's defense is in mid-season form after advancing into the title game of the Scattini Memorial Tournament with a win over Alisal.
 A pair of scholarship bound softball players are producing on the hardwood as Marisa Given and Sarah Muzik combined for 33 of Notre Dame's 48 points in a win over Oakwood.
 Alicia Montanez sets a single-game school record for Greenfield with six goals in a 7-2 win over Anzar in soccer.
 Soledad grad Felicia Villarruel continues to sizzle from the field with 19 points as MPC is in the finals of the Monterey Classic in women's hoops.
 Former Greenfield High standout Daniel Breaux had a sack and a handful of tackles in helping Southern Oregon win the NAIA National Championship.
