One of these teams will play in the Carmel Classic final after tonight's non-league battle.
Right now Salinas has a little more depth and experience than the Toreadores, whose starting lineup is a cast of new faces.
One of those new faces made an impression on Thursday in sophomore guard Kobe Ordonio, who lit up the Carmel gym in the first quarter with the teams first 16 points.
I doubt Ordonio will get as many open looks against a tenacious Salinas defense, who held Escalon under 30 points on Thursday.
Salinas, which is playing its fifth game in as many nights, has seen three different players lead the team in scoring during this stretch in Tim Harper, LaRon Logwood and Willie Gray.
Earlier this week, the Cowboys (6-1) won the Santa Cruz Dads Tournament.
