Pacific Grove boys hoops

 Certainly this can't continue.
 Or can it?
Three games, three overtimes, three wins.
The result is Pacific Grove is off to its first 3-0 start since the turn of the millennium.
Over the last decade, the Breakers have made it a habit of having horrific starts.
Last year it began the year 0-8. In 2012 and 2011, Pacific Grove started both years 0-6. In 2010, it  opened the season with eight straight losses.
Starting the year with three straight wins has not been the trend.
But it's a good omen for the future.
The last time Pacific Grove won its first two games in 2004, it went undefeated in the MTAL and reached the State Nor Cal Division IV quarterfinals.
Now, we're a long ways from that.
Yet, what these first three games have done is establish confidence. This is a team that believes it's going to find a way to win a game -- even if it takes an extra four minutes.
And while Pacific Grove may be looked upon as a cast of unknowns with the reigning MTAL MVP having graduated, the core of last year's co-championship team is back -- and year older.
