Marina football

For the fourth time in five years, the Mariners went winless in a season.
What makes this season painful is Marina failed to hold leads in the fourth quarter on three occasions, including its final two games of the season.
The Mariners defense was a pillar of strength this fall, holding six teams to 20 points or less. Keep in mind that this defense spent a lot of time on the field.
Offensively Marina never got in sync, producing just six touchdowns all season, just one in the first half.
As long as Marina coach Vernon Calhoun is around, there will always be hope, as he has provided stability to a program that has had to overcome more obstacles than any other program.
