Hartnell cross country

 Diego Leon will attempt to do something only one other Panther has achieved and that's capture a men's state cross country title.
 Leon, the Northern California champion, will go into today's state championships in Fresno as one of the favorites.
 The last Hartnell distance ace to win a state championship was Daniel Tapia, who is now a world class marathon runner.
 As a team, the Panthers are chasing a top five finish.
 So is the Northern California champion Hartnell women's team, who is anchored by Malena Grover and Brandi Hobson.
