No. 4 Crystal Springs (13-9) vs. No. 1 Notre Dame (27-6) at Thomas More High, San Jose, 5:30 p.m.
 The Spirits needed less than an hour to dispose of their first-round opponent while Crystal Springs had little trouble in sweeping Anzar.
 That, however, may be where the similarities end between these two teams.
 Crystal Springs plays in the West Bay Skyline League, where it finished third.
 The Spirits have played as well as any team since falling in five games to San Benito, ending Salinas' 51-game league winning streak and capturing the Silver Division at the Spikefest Tournament.
 Emily Cunanan and Nikki DeSerpa are a dynamic pair at the net, at times unstoppable feeding off sets from Chanel Enz.
 The defense has risen to the occasion with Julia Scattini in the back row and Chase Hagenbuch in the middle.
