Running the table might be the only way Soledad gets back to the playoffs.
Beating King City was a good start.
It was their first win against a team with a winning record in two years.
The Aztecs are 3-1 since an 0-2 start and are one of four teams separated by one game in the MTAL.
Of course, the loss that may haunt them was a 27-6 setback in their home opener to Pacific Grove.
You can't drop home games to league opponents when chasing playoff dreams.
Yet, Soledad still controls its fate.
Its offense is clicking behind three year starting quarterback Fernando Longoria, who has tossed two touchdown passes and run for two in the teams last two games.
And the ground game, which was absent earlier in the season, has returned as Enrique Pacheco has rushed for over 100 yards in his last two games.
Is it enough for a playoff push?
We will find out in two weeks when Soledad faces seven-time MTAL champion Carmel.
