Palma football

So the defense gave up some points, more than it had all season.
It also created a pair of turnovers that ultimately was the difference in Friday's 45-35 win over rival Salinas.
Rivalry games are different. So I don't put too much stock in Palma's defense being exposed. It will be fine down the stretch with adjustments.
The Chieftains offense meanwhile, has found their stride, averaging nearly 50 points a game through three Gabilan Division games.
You have to start looking at sophomore tailback Emilio Martinez as one of the elite players in the section, as he's rushed for 1,094 yards and 16 rushing touchdowns this season.
Running behind a wall of an offensive line anchored by senior Dylan Antonetti, Martinez has six games with over 100 yards rushing, including a 262 yard effort against Salinas.
Focus on Martinez and deal with rising junior quarterback Jack Richardson, who has thrown for 592 yards and six touchdowns in his last three games.
