Alvarez football

You can make the argument that the Eagles 34-27 overtime win over San Benito is the biggest in school history.
Granted, last year was special in going 10-0 in the regular season, capturing the programs first title outright and winning a postseason game.
But this was a perennial power Alvarez defeated in San Benito, a program that has been to the CCS Division I finals the last two years.
It also avenged a loss to the Balers, who knocked Alvarez out of the postseason last year, spoiling its perfect season.
And it came in overtime, after Alvarez lead for nearly the entire game.
Over the last 20 games, no team in the county has a better record than the Eagles at 18-2.
