St. Francis-Palma football

Friday's game
St. Francis (1-0) vs. Palma (1-0) at Rabobank, 7:30 p.m.
What gets your attention about St. Francis is the accuracy of quarterback Kamalalii Akina, who put the ball in the air seven times last week, completing six  -- four for touchdowns.
Keep an eye on Lancers 6-foot-5 linebacker Steven Dinneen, who had 10 tackles last week, seven for losses, including four sacks in a season opening 28-0 win over Oak Grove.
Palma's attack last week revolved around sophomore tailback Emilio Martinez, who rushed for 163 yards and three touchdowns, slashing through small seams, anchored by lineman Dylan Antonetti
The Chieftains got stronger as the game wore on, outscoring Carmel 30-0 after spotting them a 7-0 lead. Palma kicker Miguel Mendez has on of the strongest  and accurate legs in the county.
What ever adjustments Palma made in the second half last week, bottle it.
Palma, who has seven games this season at Rabobank, has won five straight in the regular season on the friendly confines of home.

Palma will be getting some help with Saint Francis injuries (4 starters) with 4 star NG/DT Thomas Toki out (out last week as well). He transferred from state of WA and committee to U of WA, and considered among top 18 DL in the country (kid benches 395 lbs) and is 6-1, 307 lbs and quick. Also missing a RB and other defenders. SF will be better at end of season, but also will Palma. SF will still be favored but now maybe Palma ha shot. Later in season, if Palma matures and improves, maybe they can defeat a SF even with those players. Just at this stage Palma is dodging a bullet. That other DE/OL Hurtado is a D1 prospect also at RB and equally as disruptive as Deneen, who played QB when Palma faced SF as frosh. SF defense is arguably the best defense in the WCAL this season.
