Friday's game
Soledad (0-2) at Alisal (0-3), 7:30 p.m.
While the Aztecs struggle to score points, the defense has been outstanding, having produced a score on a fumble return from Eric Martinez in Week 1.
Special teams have also been a plus as kicker Fabian Guzman has kicked a pair of field goals. Right now, though, Soledad is struggling to get its ground game in gear.
Alisal is going through the progressions of learning a new offense in the summer rather than during the spring. It's on-the-job training.
Slow starts have crippled the Trojans, who have been outscored 42-0 in the first quarter. That's to big of a hole to dig yourself out of when your offense is still getting acquainted with a new system.
The two teams have split their two previous games.
