You need to stop waiting for Emilio Martinez to wear down.
Because the sophomore tailback is getting stronger as the season wears on.
Concerns about the 5-foot-8, 165-pounder handling 20-plus carries a game is waning.
And it should.
Martinez has racked up four straight 100-plus yard rushing games for the 4-0 Chieftains, chalking up 198 yards in Friday's win over Palo Alto.
In four games, Martinez has 10 touchdowns -- eight on the ground for Palma, who is off to its first 4-0 start since 2002.
While the Chieftains defense has dictated the tempo, Martinez has helped keep them off the field for long stretches of the game, piling up yards behind his offensive line and chewing up the clock.
It's a recipe for an extended season.
