We've been hearing all summer that Monterey was going to open up its offense and air it out this fall.
The rumors are true.
Oh, I doubt the Toreadores will ever put the ball in the air 30 times.
Yet, it's clear that an aerial attack will be a part of their offensive game plan this year.
And it should be.
Carter Aldrete isn't the prototype Monterey quarterback that gets out and runs the ball 15 times a game.
It's not that he can't. But you can't waste that arm, not with two fleet receivers in Michael Armstead and Ryan Reynolds flanking the outside.
The pair might be the two fastest players in the Gabilan Division.
For a program that has been running an offense older than dirt for -- well forever, the change of pace could be what catapults them into uncharted waters in the Gabilan Division this year.
