Monterey-Alvarez football

Why wait?
Start the hype now.
Three 4-0 teams are left in the county.
Two of them will square off on Friday when Monterey ventures over to Alvarez.
The Eagles, who currently have the longest regular-season winning streak in the county at 14, beat Monterey 18-14 last fall to cap a perfect, record-setting 10-0 regular season.
A shot at redemption will be on the agenda for the Toreadores, who turned the ball over four times in that loss.
Monterey has produced 196 points in its first four games this season, while the Eagles are averaging 48.6 points in their last three games.
Neither team has been truly tested this year. That will change in seven days.
