Hartnell football

While the Panthers are on pace for a record breaking scoring season during their blistering 4-0 start at 52.8 points a game, individually it has truly been a team effort.
So balanced is Hartnell's scoring this fall -- second in the state behind Shasta -- that its leading scorer is sophomore kicker Gil Camacho with 28 points.
The number that gets your attention from quarterback Michael Turner is not his 10 scoring strikes in Hartnell's first four games, but just two picks in 98 attempts.
Dating back to last year, Turner has three interceptions in 202 career attempts at the collegiate level. This fall he has found 11 different receivers for nearly 800 yards.
Up until last week, no one was on pace for a 1,000 yard rushing season until Sherrod Hawkes broke out with a 238 yard effort.
Because teams have been forced to throw on the Panthers, a ball-hawking defense has picked off eight passes, two each from Nias Martin and Rodrigo De La Cruz.
