Saturday's game
Gonzales at North County, 2 p.m.
Barring a tie, someone is going to end a double-digit losing streak.
One thing that seems to be back for both programs is pride.
Quarterback Chrystian Harrigan's decision to come out for football has given Gonzales a shot in the arm. In six games last year, he rushed for nearly 1,000 yards and threw for 811.
However, without an off-season, it could take time for Harrigan to build chemistry with his receiving core.
Coming along with new North County coach John Villa is his son Tony, a senior running back that rushed for over 1,300 yards last year at Coalinga High.
The Condors didn't rush for 1,300 yards last fall as a unit.
North County was held to a touchdown or less in eight games last year. Gonzales has given up 40 or more points in 16 straight games.
